Его нет в БАРСе, в отличие, например, от слова desired, включенного как отдельная вокабула, хотя перевод, что называется, напрашивается ( желанный). А вот – designated в рекламе фирмы Budweiser:

•• Понятно, о чем речь: кому-то в компании (это и есть designated driver) приходится отказываться от выпивки, чтобы потом развозить по домам других. Мне кажется, что это можно перевести дежурный водитель, а можно, наверное, и ответственный водитель, – здесь, пожалуй, кстати придется не всегда легко переводимое русское слово ответственный.
